Dr. John T. Bowman was a practicing surgeon for over 20 years in Oklahoma specializing in cataract surgery, diabetic eye care, LASIK vision correction and treatment of macular disease. In addition to his surgical practice he was an adjunct professor of Optometry at the Northeastern State School of Optometry.

Dr. Bowman's education was progressive and well rounded.  He entered Baylor University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.  Dr. Bowman's graduate studies commenced at the University of Texas at Austin where he was awarded a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry in 1970. Upon completion of his Ph.D. studies, Dr. Bowman received a one-year Research and Teaching Fellowship at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.

At this point in his education, Dr. Bowman decided to pursue a medical degree at the University of Texas in San Antonio where, in 1975, he was awarded his Doctorate of Medicine. His internship in Internal Medicine was at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Dr. Bowman and Maryann have two wonderful children. In addition to being a husband and father, Dr. Bowman has been a Sunday School Teacher for the past 25 years. He enjoys playing tennis, travel, photography and he is also an avid reader.
