The Connecticut Center for Child Development conducts conferences that include both workshops and a lecture series on a variety of topics related to applied behavior analysis and autism education and treatment.The CCCD conferences address unique solutions in autism education and are free to both the general public as well as professionals interested in these related fields. CCCD also collaborates with three other accomplished autism educational agencies in the tri-state area to host the "Working Together Conference," held each year at the New York Academy of Medicine in New York City each April. There is a tremendous need for highly skilled and well trainedautism professionals in order to meet the ever rising, complex needs ofindividuals with autism spectrum disorders. CCCD's professional education initiatives provide both basic and advanced training inapplied behavior analysis. All new employees participate in a comprehensive basic training program. CCCD provides both theeducational background and experience necessary for promotion within the agency and advancement in the field of autism treatment.
CCCD offers start up and consultative services to agencies interested in beginning programs for individuals with disabilities. This consultative program will advise in the development, reorganization, and management of applied behavior analytic services. Also included, will be training in organizational management, financial planning, and other related topics. For further information contact Suzanne Letso, Executive Director.There is a regularly scheduled visitor's day for the public and other professionals upon request. Visitor's days are generally held once per month from 9:30 - 11:30 am. A general overview of the CCCD programs is provided, followed by a tour of the school. Whenever possible, individual program tours for those visiting from out of state or School District Planning and Placement Teams can be scheduled upon request.
