Wooden Box

This boxs design was influenced by James Krenov and will serve as a basic learning piece for our group to start with. It is 4 inches high, 10 inches square and made of Butternut. There are dovetails, mortise and tenon joints as well as a floating panel for us to practice on. There is also an inlaid piece of wood in the top and requires fitting two hinges in the back. We will also review a finishing process. This simple box will cover the fundamentals of woodworking and allow the student to then make more complicated pieces later on.
